Each year, the SEIU-West Education Committee accepts applications from SEIU-West members who are in good standing (meaning dues paying members), who all aim to win $750 towards their post secondary training or education. A second winning category involves children of SEIU-West members who are also eligible to apply for one of ten $750 scholarships.

The Education Committee always has a difficult time selecting the 20 winners – the submitted essays are all very well-thought-out! This year’s essay topic was ‘how do unions contribute to a fair and just society?’ The SEIU-West Education Committee is honoured to work alongside such passionate and engaged labour activists. Thank you to all who applied and for those of you who did not receive a scholarship, we encourage you to apply again next year!

Below, you can find this year’s list of winners – Congratulations!! And stay tuned for the 2016 Scholarship Applications!
