Regina Folk Festival: Contest!
The 52nd Regina Folk Festival is taking place August 11 - 13. This popular music festival features a blend of music, with unique performers on each of the three nights of the festival! The theme of this year's festival is Web of Life: Music and Community in harmony with the Earth.
International Worker's Day: May 1 2023
International Worker's Day, sometimes called May Day or Labour Day, takes place annually on May 1. This day is a celebration of labourers and the working class and commemorates the historic and ongoing struggles of the labour movement. In the late 1800's, workers came together to fight for safer work environments and an eight-hour workday, demanding eight hours for work, eight hours for rest, and eight hours to do as they will. These workers struggled and fought, eventually taking to the streets in a general strike that would result in death and injury to those who participated.
2023 Family Literacy Day Contest
It's January and time to celebrate Family Literacy Day! This fun celebration raises awareness about the importance of reading and engaging in other literacy-related activities. For kids, taking time to read every day is crucial to a child's development, improving their literacy skills dramatically. For adults, reading allows us to learn something new, or escape into an exciting world of fiction. Family literacy allows the entire family to improve their reading and writing skills.

SEIU-West is proud to sponsor community events, like Winterruption 2023. This concert features Hannah Georgas, Vancouver based singer/songwriter. We are offering up 2 pairs of tickets to see this concert, all you have to do to enter is email us at [email protected] and tell us how do you manage our long Saskatchewan winters? Do you embrace outdoor activities, or would you rather hibernate with a cup of tea and a book?
This contest is open to members of SEIU-West and is not endorsed or authorized by any social media platform. Entries will be accepted until January 19. A random draw will be made from all entries received; winners will be notified by email and may pick up their tickets from our Swift Current office during our regular business hours.
