2023 Lobby Day for Community-Based Organizations
On November 6, 2023, members from Community-Based Organizations around Saskatchewan met in Regina for a lobby day to ask the government to do more for CBO workers.
- SEIU-West Multicultural Mentorship Committee wants you to join them to celebrate Asian Heritage Month by celebrating with a weekly contest for the month of May!
Asian Heritage Month offers an opportunity to grow our awareness about the contributions of Canadians of Asian descent who, for over two centuries, have done so much to contribute to make Canada a country worth living in.
It is also a reminder for us to come together to fight Anti-Asian hate, racism and discrimination.
Asian Heritage Month facts:
- Asian Heritage Month has been celebrated since the 1990s.
- In December of 2001, the Senate of Canada adopted a motion proposed by Senator Vivienne Poy to officially designate May as Asian Heritage Month in Canada.
- In May of 2002, the Government of Canada signed an official declaration to announce May as Asian Heritage Month.
