The Link Award is an annual award for one outstanding SEIU-West member working in one of our many Community Based Organizations that shows tremendous care, pride, and dedication.
The 2023 recipient of the Link Award is Brandy, who works at an urban crisis shelter.
Brandy's co-workers nominated her for this award, noting that she regularly goes above and beyond when supporting fellow union members and staff at her facility. She is a fierce advocate for the clients and other who are seeking shelter. Brandy is dedicated, organized, and empathetic in all that she does at work. Her nominators mention that she is thoughtful, caring, always willing to help, and dedicated to improving mental health care, morale, and general wellness.
In addition to her important work on the job, Brandy has increased her involvement in the union, as Unit Chair, Member Facilitator, and Co-Chair of the Political Action & Awareness Committee.
