The SEIU-West Multicultural Mentorship Committee and Young Worker Committee have partnered to invite you to apply to attend their 2023 Conference. This conference is intended for young workers, new Canadians and workers of colour, where we can discuss mental health, discrimination, the challenges of coming to Canada, and issues like accessing affordable, nutritional food.
The Conference will be held at our Saskatoon SEIU-West office (747 46th Street W) on March 29 & 30, 2023.
Conference registration is from 12:30pm-1:00pm on March 29 and will end with a supper and evening social. (Lunch will not be provided on the first day, but we are planning a delicious supper with you all.) The next day, we will start at 9:00am and will wrap up at 3:30pm.
Your completed Expression of Interest form must be submitted by Feb 1, 2023 to allow us to complete the registration and selection process.
The committees will cover the cost for up to 20 members to attend. Costs include your lost wages/honorarium, mileage, travel time and applicable meals as per our policies. Hotel costs will also be covered as per our policies. We ask that you notify us to cancel your hotel if your plans change and you are unable to attend. If you are selected to attend and you are scheduled to work, you can apply for union leave to attend.
