On April 6, the Saskatchewan Labour Relations Board released a unanimous decision that found Canadian Blood Services (CBS) violated the Saskatchewan Employment Act, and tried to subvert, frustrate, or avoid the collective bargaining process by:

  • Taking an unreasonable position,
  • Wouldn’t even start bargaining for 14 months, and
  • Refusing to discuss wage rates.

These unfair labour practices are the very definition of bargaining in bad faith. In fact, the LRB said “the Employer’s conduct crossed over into an unacceptable avoidance of its collective bargaining responsibilities.”

It’s been five years since the dedicated workers at Canadian Blood Services have had a contract. CBS workers need your support.
