Earth Day 2025
April 22 is Earth Day, a day for people worldwide to unite in a global movement to acknowledge the climate crisis and seize the opportunities of a zero-carbon future.
Tracy is an SEIU-West member who works at an urban childcare facility in the south of the province. This is the time to appreciate all that she does for the children in her community, Early Childhood Educator Appreciation Day.
In a day, Tracy provides care for ten toddlers, but it’s so much more than that. Tracy spends her time feeding, playing with, and nurturing children in a way that will make a difference in their lives. Spending time with children is something Tracy is passionate about and has been doing for 10 years. Every day is a new day, and there is always something to learn and someone to inspire.
Tracy is relieved to report that even thought it was a very trying time, she was able to overcome the obstacles that were sent her way. She and her coworkers kept things running smoothly and were able to keep a good supply of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Her facility has since gone back to pre-pandemic regulations and is taking the maximum amount of children. This is sure to keep Tracy and the rest of the staff quite engaged as we approach the summer months.
Tracy, we know that childcare is no walk in the park. It requires a level of care and patience that not everyone has. You are a vital component of our Community Based Organizations and we thank you for your dedication to your job. We are very glad to celebrate Early Childhood Educator Day with you and your coworkers.
