We stand in solidarity with Saskatchewan Union of Nurses and call on the immediate installation of a metal detector at St. Paul's Hospital, along with more security measures to ensure that patients, their families, and staff have confidence that when they are accessing care at a Saskatoon hospital, they are in a safe environment.
We are inviting unit leadership (Chairs, Co-Chairs, Vice-Chairs, and/or Communicators) to fill out this application form, with information about their unit (e.g. estimated total number of SEIU-West members) and how they propose to celebrate Education Week (November 24-30) in their unit (e.g. food, gift card draw, etc.).
NOTE: Only one application from each unit will be considered, our limited campaign budget will cover the cost of cake, snacks or prizes only. No union leave will be provided.
If your unit's application is approved, SEIU-West will reimburse the unit's expenses up to an amount based on the total number of SEIU-West members who work in that unit/facility:
- Up to $75 for those units with up to 50 SEIU-West members
- Up to $125 for those units with between 51 and 100 SEIU-West members
- Up to $175 for those units with between 101 and 200 SEIU-West members
- Up to $225 for those units with over 200 SEIU-West members
The deadline to submit your application is 9:00 AM, Monday, November 25, 2024.
Once you’ve been approved and have purchased all the items you need, fill out the Expense Form with ‘Education Week’ in the Event/Meeting section, scan the original receipts, and email it all to [email protected] by 9:00 AM, December 16, 2024 so we can get your reimbursement processed.
If you prefer to submit a hard copy expense voucher, please contact your nearest SEIU-West office.

We encourage you to share details with your Internal Organizer and Union Representative so that they know when the events will be occurring in your workplace.
