October 19-25 is Education Week. Our SEIU-West members work tirelessly to provide children in Saskatchewan the supports they need to succeed.

Deborah works as an office manager in Southern Saskatchewan and has dedicated almost 20 years to the education system. She's always enjoyed helping others and being a part of a team that makes a difference. In a school setting, she gets to support both staff and students every day, which makes the work meaningful. The combination of organization, problem-solving, and personal connection is what inspired Deborah to pursue this role.
A typical day involves managing attendance, coordinating staff schedules, supporting administration, and assisting students and families. It's a busy, fast-paced environment that requires organization, communication, and flexibility.
The best part of Deborah's day is being able to help others - whether that's calming a student, solving a scheduling issue, or supporting a teacher. It's the little interactions and teamwork that make the day meaningful.
A memorable moment was realizing how much of a difference the office team makes in creating a supportive, welcoming environment for students and staff. it's those moments of appreciation and connection that really stay with her.
Thank you, Deborah, for supporting schools for success, being there for the team, and shaping our children's futures.
