The SEIU-West Convention will be held in Saskatoon May 2025. Delegates at that Convention will select the SEIU-West President, Treasurer, one Trustee, and at least 7 additional members of the Executive Board.
We are looking for at least three SEIU-West members who would be interested in serving on the Elections Committee.
The Elections Committee's duties include supervising the nominations and elections of the above positions, as well as:
- helping to plan and supervise the selection of Convention delegates
- approving all candidate campaign material distributed at Convention or posted on the SEIU-West website
- tabulating and sharing the election results
- preparing a final report for the Executive Board.
The Committee will be led by SEIU-West Vice-President Jason Monteith and Director of Contract Bargaining and Enforcement Bob Laurie.
Who is eligible to be on the Committee?
- You must be a member in good standing of SEIU-West
- You must not be running for President, Treasurer, Trustee, or other Executive Board position
- You must not be assisting in the campaign of anyone who is running for any of the above positions.
