SEIU-West is thrilled to recognize September 7 – 13, 2020 as Environmental Services Workers (ESW) Week!
ESWs, housekeeping, janitorial and custodial staff have been proven to be a vital part of a safe and healthy community even before the COVID-19 pandemic.
As the first line of defense against COVID-19, these infection control professionals ensure our schools, health care facilities, and public spaces are clean and safe.
As the province continues on the long road to re-opening, ESWs and their counter parts are out there doing their best to help keep us safe.
ESWs understand and follow infection control practices to reduce the risks to all those who access health care facilities, schools and public spaces.
The daily responsibilities of ESWs also involves heavy lifting and the use of dangerous substances. They know how to safely handle these everyday challenges while protecting themselves and those around them. ESW perform some of the most important jobs and they deserve our praise and support.
We are proud to celebrate these infection control heroes!
