The SEIU-West Executive Board is the main governance body of SEIU-West. Its key responsibilities include:
- making policies and procedures for the direction and management of the affairs of SEIU-West
- approving SEIU-West's annual budget
- interpreting and enforcing the Constitution of SEIU-West
It meets in-person four times per year. Board members also have responsibilities between meetings, such as to regularly visit assigned facilities and engage with the membership.
Board members are remunerated for their time, travel, and other expenses in accordance with SEIU-West policies.
At the most recent SEIU-West Convention in May 2025 the Constitution was amended to add a position to the Executive Board representing the former Heartland Health Region.
The position is for a four-year term, ending in May 2029. It will be filled by appointment, by the SEIU-West President with the approval of the Executive Board.
