Sisters in Spirit Day is held every year on October 4th to honour and remember Indigenous women, girls, and two-spirit (MMIWG2S+) people who have gone missing or been murdered in Canada. It’s a day of action where people come together for vigils and events to raise awareness about the ongoing violence Indigenous communities face, and to stand in solidarity with the families and loved ones who are affected.

The SEIU-West First, Nations, Métis and Inuit Committee (FNMIC) is hosting a contest called "Why We Remember."

  • Why is it important to honour and remember the women, girls and two-spirited individuals that have lost their lives?
  • What can we do as individuals and communities?

Fill out this form to enter to win a book and FNMIC mug. Deadline to apply is October 20th, 2025.

You must be an SEIU-West member to apply.
