Did you know that there are 382 classifications that SEIU-West represents in healthcare?

Some are visible when you walk into a hospital or long-term care, but many are working tireless behind the scenes to provide the public with healthcare.

Connie, a Health Information Management Clerk, works to connect patients' health and data information so that the healthcare team can accurately see the health story of patients.

Read Connie's story:

Connie wanted to help people, so she took an Office Administration course to be a Health Information Management Clerk over 15 years ago. Her career involves collecting, sorting, scanning, and assembling patient charts to prepare for surgery, helping the doctors with getting their dictations done in a timely manner, and purging health records while maintaining confidentiality.

Connie loves the team of people that she works with.

A memorable moment is when her son needed open heart surgery, and she was going to have to take a leave of absence. Her co-workers collected money to help offset the financial burden of missing paychecks. Having the team support her made the difference.
