Greetings Sisters and Brothers at Extendicare,
As you are aware, SEIU-West has reached a tentative agreement with the Saskatchewan Association of Health Organizations (SAHO) for our members who work for the Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) and its affiliates and who are covered under the SAHO/SEIU-West Collective Bargaining Agreement.
This week we are conducting the ratification vote for the SAHO/SEIU-West tentative agreement only. We are not conducting a vote for an Extendicare collective agreement this week.
We know some of you have received phone calls, “voicemail blasts”, texts and verbal information that you should register to vote and vote this week.
You have received this information in error. This week is for SAHO tentative agreement voting only. Please do not register to vote if you DO NOT work for the SHA and/or an affiliate. Extendicare Canada Inc. (ECI) is not an affiliate; you have your own Collective Bargaining Agreement.
Once the SAHO/SEIU-West Collective Agreement is ratified and once the COVID–19 outbreaks are under control in Extendicare facilities, we will be meeting with the Employer to commence collective bargaining. Your bargaining committee will be in touch to let you know what is happening and to listen to your concerns and suggestions.
