February 20, 2026

Dear Members,

Your bargaining committees met with SAHO during the week of February 17th to 20th. We have fought consistently to advance your priorities at the bargaining table. We have now tabled the Health Provider Unions’ (HPUs) monetary proposals, that were crafted to address wage discrepancies within the pay bands, years of inadequate wage increases, chronic short-staffing, and the recruitment and retention crisis.

We decided to table our monetary proposal now in response to the employer’s ongoing stalling tactics and continued demands for concessions, inclusive of the employer’s ability to move work and people. These are things we simply cannot accept. You deserve more.

Here’s why:

  • Health providers in other provinces have recently negotiated significant increases and meaningful retention incentives.
  • For more than a decade, your wages have not kept pace with the cost of living.
  • For many classifications, your wages are no longer competitive. Saskatchewan health care providers currently have some of the lowest wages within the health care field in Canada.

We are increasing the pressure on the employer so we can see real movement. We are considering all options to conclude bargaining and get you the deal you deserve.

The Health Provider Unions will resume common table bargaining March 9th to 13th.

In solidarity,

On behalf of your bargaining committees,
