May 13 is Licensed Practical Nurse Day in Saskatchewan.
This day allows us to recognize the dedicated professionals who work as LPNs, supporting the people of Saskatchewan in rural and urban acute and long term care facilities around the province, as well as within home care. LPNs work closely with all members of the healthcare team, ensuring patient safety through a variety of care tasks relating to medication, monitoring vital signs, and more.

To recognize Nursing Week, the Nursing Care Committee, the Young Workers Committee, and the Political Action and Awareness Committee have come together to sponsor members of the Family of Nursing to attend the Legislative Assembly in Regina, as well as meet with government officials to bring their concerns forward.
On May 13, SEIU-West members met with NDP MLAs Vicki Mowat, Meara Conway, Joan Pratchler, Bhajan Brar, and Nathaniel Teed.
These members were welcomed to the Legislative Assembly by the Minister of Health Jeremy Cockrill and by Nathaniel Teed, Shadow Minister of Labour.
