For Immediate Release - June 15, 2020
Regina – SEIU-West member leaders will be outside of the legislature by 11:30 am on June 16, 2020. This group intends to share information with the public and the Government of Saskatchewan about the continuing struggles of SEIU-West members who work in the health sector.
If not addressed, these issues may impact the health care services people access every day in rural and urban communities across the province.
“SEIU-West is making every effort to be responsible, in light of COVID-19, as we share our information with the public. The member leaders who were invited to attend today’s action continue to have unanswered questions from the Government of Saskatchewan. We will not condone the lack of transparency or accountability that has been displayed by our government.” said Barbara Cape, President of SEIU-West. “We believe that the time is now for the public to better understand the situation in health care as we need the support of the public to end understaffing. The Government can no longer deny that there is a problem.”
