Saskatoon – Workers at the Parent Aide Program, part of the Saskatoon Society for the Protection of Children (SSPC), have voted strongly in favour of forming their union with SEIU-West.
"These workers have dedicated their careers to helping parents who require assistance,” says Lead Organizer Stacey Lolacher. “They are passionate and dedicated to providing parents the support they need.”
SEIU-West is proud to welcome these new members from the Parent Aide Program who are joining their SSPC counterparts from the Saskatoon Crisis Nursery.
“Our newest members are united in demanding they be treated with more respect and dignity,” adds President of SEIU-West, Barbara Cape. “They are in good hands with SEIU-West.”
SEIU-West represents over 13,000 people across Saskatchewan. They include people who work in health care, education, municipalities, community-based organizations, retirement homes and other sectors. They are joined by one colour – purple – and one union – SEIU-West. Purple works in our communities! Visit PurpleWorks.ca to find out more about SEIU-West members.
