Virtual town halls (VTHs) were scheduled for the evenings of May 27 and 28 to update SEIU-West members about SAHO bargaining and answer bargaining questions. Unfortunately, the VTH on May 27 ran into major technical glitches. We apologize if you were one of the hundreds of members whose experienced this failure. We were not satisfied that the supplier of the VTH platform would be able to properly fix these problems in time, so we decided to cancel the May 28 VTH.
You may have noticed there hasn't been an announcement about bbqs for the summer yet.

Dear Members,
World AIDS Day, designated on December 1 every year since 1988, is an international day dedicated to raising awareness of the AIDS pandemic caused by the spread of HIV infection and mourning those who have died of the disease. This day was conceived in August of 1987 by James W. Bunn and Thomas Netter.
First Nations, Métis and Inuit Committee (FNMIC) and Workers of Colour Multicultural Mentorship Committee (WoCMMC) recently asked folks to apply to join them at the People Bridge Advocacy's TRC Calls to Action - Walking Together: A Sharing Circle Gathering for Truth and Reconciliation.
When members attend events, we ask that they send in reports so members can read up on what the events are all about and learn from the reports. Have a read:

The Gender and Sexual Diversity Committee would like to take a moment to honour and recognize Transgender Day of Remembrance, reflecting on the lives lost this year due to violence and discrimination against transgender and gender diverse individuals.
As the holiday season approaches, many in our community may need a little extra support. If you know someone who could benefit from a helping hand, we invite you to nominate them for one of five Christmas hamper baskets or one of thirty Co-op gift cards, courtesy of the Young Workers Committee and Nursing Care Committee.
