June is National Indigenous Peoples Month. This is a time to honour the rich history, resilience, and diversity of First Nations, Métis and Inuit peoples. It is an opportunity to reflect on historical and current injustices and commit to true reconciliation in Canada.
The First Nations, Métis and Inuit Committee would like to share some events and resources with you and encourage you to participate in events in your area.

Thursday, June 18th Grand Entry at 11:00am in North Battleford: Western Development Museum is hosting a traditional Pow Wow.
Month of June: FNMIC contest: ENTER HERE! Send us a recipe of a dish using traditional Indigenous ingredients (like wild rice, berries, squash, or fish). Share with us the cultural significance of the dish. (You're welcome to send in your picture of your dish as well!) The winner will receive a book from the list and a FNMIC mug. Deadline to apply is June 30th, 2026.
