December 8 is Pansexual Pride Day. This is an annual celebration of the pansexual community, which recognizes, celebrates, and brings visibility to those who identify as pansexual.

It is celebrated in December each year and is an important opportunity for pansexual people to come together, celebrate their identities, and advocate for a more inclusive society.

Bisexual and pansexual are very similar labels, but they have some key differences. Bisexual people experience attraction to people of more than one sex and/or gender. Pansexual people experience attraction to people regardless of gender, including gender diverse people, such as non-binary and transgender folks.

The pansexual flag was adopted in 2010. It has three horizontal stripes, pink, yellow, and cyan. Most definitions claim that pink and cyan represent attraction to women and men, respectively, while yellow signifies attraction to non-binary people.

The inclusion of pansexuality on the 2SLBGTQIA+ spectrum just goes to show how much progress we in the queer community have made. It is an example of allowing space for queer people to identify themselves in an authentic way, while being proud of their identity.

SEIU-West stands in solidarity with members of the queer community, and all the progress they bring to organized labour.

The Gender and Sexual Diversity Committee would like to share some resources regarding identities, terms, and pansexuality.
