SEIU-West met with SAHO on September 17, 18 and 19 in Saskatoon. Some progress was made on various articles which continues to inch us towards the end of negotiations and a new contract for our members covered under the SAHO agreement.
All three provider unions, SEIU-West, SGEU, and CUPE, met with SAHO on September 23 in Regina to discuss the logistics and parameters of common table bargaining. Things such as dates, start and end times, representative speakers, code of conduct, general administrative duties, and communications with stakeholders and members were all discussed and agreed upon by all parties. Common table bargaining is where we can shift the focus to monetary items but will continue to work through outstanding individual proposals simultaneously.
SEIU-West will meet with SAHO in early October, just ahead of our common table dates beginning on October 20. We have several weeks of future dates planned at this time as all attention will be focused on obtaining a new contract and meaningful compensation for our members.
