December 21st is Winter Solstice. This day has been celebrated by many First Nations for centuries as a time to slow down and acknowledge the new season, and this day is often celebrated with ceremonies and community gatherings.
The SEIU-West First Nations Métis Inuit Committee would like to share a blessing with you:
May you find peace in the promise of the solstice night, that each day forward is blessed with more light.
That the cycle of nature, unbroken and true, brings faith to your soul and well-being to you.
Rejoice in the darkness, in the silence find rest, and may the days that follow be abundantly blessed.
