"The best part of my job is the patients, the experiences, and the coworkers" - Tanya.
Tanya is a Licenced Practical Nurse (LPN) at St. Paul’s Hospital. She has her LPN diploma, Operating room and IV training.
For Tanya, the best part of her job is the patients, the experiences and the coworkers. Her job involves assessing patients, checking their vitals and BGMs, washing, feeding, changing and mobilizing patients. She also cleans patients’ rooms, changes bedding, charts, advocates for her patients and works with the doctors.
Tanya remembers having a patient who had been with them for quite some time. He hadn’t had a shower in weeks, just bed baths. She took him to the shower, changed his bedding and gave him a good shave. Once back in the bed and comfortable, he looked at her and said, “Thank you for making me feel like a human being again by going that extra mile”. It made Tanya feel good knowing that she had helped someone feel better.
Thank you Tanya and all LPN’s for the care you provide our patients!
