Date: October 12, 2023
Greetings Sisters, Brothers, and Colleagues
On September 25, 2023, your bargaining committee presented a Memorandum of Agreement which, along with the previously agreed to Articles, we recommended you accept. An electronic vote was held and the agreement was ratified (accepted) by the members. We notified the Employer on September 27, 2023 that the Tentative Agreement (TA) was ratified. The Employer advised us they had ratified as well.
The information distributed during the September 25th meeting contained the new wage increases and the new wage grid in the Wages - Schedule “A” document.
All amendments made to the CBA became effective September 27, 2023 (the date we tabulated the ballots and notified the employer the membership had agreed to the Memorandum of Agreement). Where there was no amendment, the current language is carried on.
On September 27th, the 25 July 2023 wage in the new Wages Schedule A document became your new wage schedule. The Employer may need some time to implement the new wage. You will receive retro pay at the 25 July 2023 wage rate from 25 July 2023 to the date when the Employer commences paying that new wage rate. You will also receive retro pay at the 25 July 2022 wage rate from 25 July 2022 to the date when the Employer commences paying that new wage rate. You will also receive retro pay at the 25 July 2021 wage rate from 25 July 2021 to the date when the Employer commences paying that new wage rate.
The Employer has agreed to provide retroactive pay within four pay periods from September 27, 2023. We have not been notified of any reasons for a delay, therefore should not be later than the last week of November, 2023.
The next General Wage Increase will be on January 25th, 2024, as indicated in the Wages - Schedule “A” document we distributed at the ratification meeting. The implementation of the wage grid will be on 25 July 2024.
The current rates of pay (July 25, 2023) may begin to appear on your next full pay period following ratification on September 27, 2023. We request that you review your next pay statement, and inform your Bargaining Committee if the July 25, 2023 rates do not show up on your next bi-weekly payroll.
If there are any other questions related to the ratification and application of rates of pay, please inform your Bargaining Committee. Your committee members can then follow up with the Union.
In Solidarity,
The SEIU-West West Park Crossing Bargaining Committee
