As part of the Saskatchewan Federation of Labour campaign “Putting Workers First”, the SFL will be hosting a series of labour canvasses in target constituencies with elected labour leaders from our affiliated unions and their members.
What is a labour canvass?
A labour canvass is an organized door-knocking event for labour-friendly provincial election candidates; elected labour leaders join labour friendly candidates and volunteers door knocking in target constituencies.
Who should participate?
Ideally, we want elected leaders of our affiliated unions to join labour friendly candidates on the doorsteps to talk about issues important to working people in Saskatchewan. We welcome all staff and members of our affiliates to volunteer as well!
What to expect:
SFL Labour canvasses will be organized in a space optimal for social distancing where folks will get canvass kits (maps, leaflets, script, etc), swag and a quick lesson on how to canvass from our staff. Folks will then be sent out to polls to canvass on issues important to working people for the labour friendly candidate in that constituency.
How can you help?
Share the SFL’s labour canvass events on your personal and union Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. Share labour canvass information to your committees and interested membership through your websites or emails.
RSVP to Deena Kapacila.
