Earth Day is around the corner, April 22nd, and we are marking it with a critical webinar on extreme heat. "Heating Up: Special Earth Day Webinar" is scheduled for April 22nd from 7:30-8:30 PM EST/4:30-5:30 PM PST. The webinar will cover what to expect this summer across North America, how to protect yourself and those around you, and what your rights are at work.
April 28th is recognized by the labour movement across Canada as the day when we mourn victims of workplace accidents or disease and remember their sacrifice.
This is also a time for the renewal of our pledge to rededicate ourselves to the goal of making our workplaces safer. We must continue to urge governments to improve health and safety standards and workers' compensation benefits in the workplace.
Labour Councils from around the province have organized events in honour of the day.
