Dear Members,
Date: April 18, 2024
Sisters, Brothers, and Friends,
Your SEIU-West bargaining committee met with SAHO on April 16-18 in Saskatoon. Most of the committee’s time was spent in our Union caucus meetings developing counter proposals or amendments to respond to what SAHO has put forward as part of their proposal package.
SEIU-West focused our time on developing responses on the grievance process in an effort to make it a more timely process that our members can trust in. We’ve heard from our members that the unreasonable amount of time needed by the Employer to provide its responses or the delays in progressing grievances on to the next step is unacceptable. We have proposed improvements that we believe will address these concerns from our members.
SAHO has focused their time on developing a comprehensive response to our proposal package. To date SAHO has provided amendments to their proposals but no written responses to our proposals.
Monetary issues have still not been discussed in any fashion at this bargaining table.
If you have collective agreement questions or issues, contact the Member Resource Center at 1-888-999-7348 ext 1, email [email protected], or complete the Contact Us form on our website, www.seiuwest.ca.
In Solidarity on behalf of the SEIU-West Bargaining Committee
