"I try to give the best care that I can for the residents - and I love to make them laugh!" - Maria.
As a Care Aide worker, Maria works to ensure residents get the provision of care they need by taking on a range of shifts: mornings, days, evenings and nights. She therefore recognizes the variety of care needs that are required throughout the day and strives to ensure the best care.
At Elmwood, there are roughly 40 residents. Along with her fellow staff, they make sure the residents’ shopping, appointments and person-centered planning meetings are accomplished. She also volunteers with recreational therapy measures, such as swimming. Maria appreciates the team work that is involved in this line of care work.
Maria aims to ensure all the residents’ daily needs are met physically, mentally and spiritually; Maria understands the importance of addressing and meeting residents’ emotional support. She especially loves to make the resident’s laugh!
