On behalf of the SEIU-West Workers of Colour Multicultural Mentorship Committee (WoCMMC), we share our deepest condolences to those affected by the tragedy at the Vancouver Lapu Lapu Day Festival in Vancouver on April 26th. This senseless attack has shaken the Filipino community and our friends and allies across Canada and the world.

We are still in disbelief; a happy event turned into a very sad and tragic day.

We would like to invite everyone to a Community Vigil tomorrow, April 30th, 2025, to honour and support the victims and families affected by the Filipino Lapu-Lapu Day tragedy in Vancouver, BC.

We also extend our deepest gratitude to all who have expressed sympathy and support for the Filipino community. Your thoughtfulness and solidarity have brought much-needed comfort during this time of sorrow.
