Greetings Sisters and Brothers,
SEIU-West is pleased to announce that the parties have signed a Memorandum of Agreement for a temporary wage increase for the Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) classification at Riverbend Crossing, West Park Crossing, Stonebridge Crossing, and Hunter Village.
The Employer approached the Union to temporarily increase the wage of the LPN classification at Stonebridge Crossing facility to help recruit and retain nurses in that facility.
The Union told the Employer its recruitment and retention challenges were not limited to Stonebridge Crossing. SEIU-West proposed that all members working in an LPN position in the Riverbend Crossing, West Park Crossing, Stonebridge Crossing, and Hunter Village (should they hire LPNs) facilities receive a temporary wage increase to $32.00 an hour for all hours worked in a LPN position, including working overtime or for premium pay. Applicable weekend and/or night premiums would still be paid.
The Union wanted the temporary wage increase to be effective January 1, 2023, paid retroactively, and in effect until Collective Bargaining Agreements (CBA) for the facilities are negotiated and ratified, or until the rates of pay for the LPN classification in the applicable CBAs exceed $32.00 an hour, whichever applies to each facility.
The Employer ultimately agreed to SEIU-West’s proposals and the parties signed a Memorandum of Agreement. Payments started in February.
