You’ll find delegates, SEIU-West staff, and invited guests at Convention. Only delegates have the right to full participation (i.e. voice and vote) in Convention business such as nominations, elections, debates, and votes on resolutions and amendments.
As detailed in the SEIU-West Constitution, delegates are selected as follows:
- Each unit is entitled to send one (1) delegate per 100 unit members, or portion thereof, to a maximum of 20 delegates.
- Each current member of the SEIU-West Executive Board is an automatic delegate, and is not counted as part of their unit’s delegate entitlement.
- The Unit Chair is the automatic first delegate. If the unit is entitled to additional delegates, the unit must hold a unit meeting to select those delegates. If you’re interested in becoming a delegate, attend this meeting—check the union board at work or the Events page on the SEIU-West website to see if and when the meeting is being held.
If you are a delegate (whether automatic or selected), or a staff member assigned to attend, you must submit a delegate registration form no later than April 17, 2025.
A delegate must be a Member in Good Standing (MIGS) of SEIU-West—which includes paying, on time, the full dues and other payments prescribed by the SEIU-West Constitution.
