Member Notice: Request to Sign Letter of Discipline or Letter of Expectation
It has come to the Union's attention that a few of our members have been requested by the employer to sign a Letter of Discipline or Letter of Expectation they received. The signing line states that the member has read and understands the contents of the letter. Please note that signing such a letter is strictly voluntary and is not a requirement. Members are not obligated to sign. If you are uncomfortable with signing the letter or if you do not understand or agree with the contents of the letter, you may refuse to sign it. In the event that you feel pressured to sign, despite your discomfort, you may simply mark the letter with the words "Refuse to sign."
Should you have any questions or concerns regarding a Letter of Discipline or Letter of Expectation, please contact the Member Resource Centre by calling 1.888.999.7348 ext. 2298, by emailing [email protected], or by completing the Contact Form on our website.

Media Release: Saskatchewan Surplus Should be Invested in Public Services
For Immediate Release
November 30, 2022
Saskatchewan – The Saskatchewan government yesterday released its mid-year financial report for the 2022-23 fiscal year. The report forecasts a $1.1 billion surplus, mainly due to a spike in non-renewable resource revenues. SEIU-West encourages the Government of Saskatchewan to not fritter away this windfall on $500 giveaway cheques and tax breaks for gym memberships, instead, they should be investing in the care workers and public services that keep this province running.

Your patience and understanding during this time is greatly appreciated. If you have any questions, please contact the Member Resource Centre (MRC) by phone 1-888-999-7348, email [email protected], or using the contact form.

Pink Shirt Day 2023
In 2007 a high school student in Berwick Nova Scotia was bullied for wearing a pink shirt. Two grade 12 students bought 50 pink shirts and encouraged their classmates to wear pink. The next day, they went to distribute the shirts and to their surprise the majority of students had arrived to school wearing pink. That beautiful act of solidarity and kindness prompted Pink Shirt Day. This important day raises awareness about the prevention of bullying and promoting kindness and inclusion and will take place on February 22, 2023.
