October 30 - November 3 is Healthcare Provider Week and we want to celebrate all of the hardworking members who are part of the healthcare team with a contest!
October 22 - 28 is Facilities and Engineering Week and gives us the chance to showcase the important role that facilities team members have in ensuring a safe and efficient environment for patients, residents, staff, and visitors. Today, we are highlighting SEIU-West member Donald, a Facility Maintenance Operator at an urban acute care facility.

The third week in October is Combined Laboratory & X-Ray Technician Week and gives us the chance to celebrate the professionals who work in this field. CLXTs perform diagnostic testing that the entire healthcare team relies on to provide care to the patient.

Happy International Pronouns Day!
The Saskatchewan Teachers’ Federation (the STF) has been bargaining with the Government and Trustee bargaining committee. They have reached an impasse and are unable to make any progress. The STF has notified their members that they will be holding a vote on sanctions against their employer.
SEIU-West is looking to train and support a member who is interested in participating in the Joint Job Evaluation Maintenance Committee as an alternate. We want to broaden the skill set of our member leaders and activists and are posting for this position.

Re: Parties' Closing Arguments Regarding the SEIU-West Successorship Application
On September 29, the final arguments from SEIU-West, the Saskatchewan Health Authority (the SHA), CUPE and SGEU were heard by the Saskatchewan Labour Relations Board (SLRB) on SEIU-West’s successorship application to continue to represent the members of SEIU-West at the Extendicare facilities in Moose Jaw, Saskatoon, and the three Extendicare facilities in Regina.
