As the holiday season approaches, many in our community may need a little extra support. If you know someone who could benefit from a helping hand, we invite you to nominate them for one of five Christmas hamper baskets or one of thirty Co-op gift cards, courtesy of the Young Workers Committee and Nursing Care Committee.
SEIU-West members who are eligible to vote on the SAHO Tentative Agreement (TA) are invited to cast their ballot in advance at any of SEIU-West’s offices (see location information below) on April 11, 2019.
Polls will be open from 7:00 am until 5:00 pm.
Eligibility: You must be a member in good standing. If you’re off on a leave, and have not been paying union dues (including disability, maternity, or other leaves) you will not be able to vote. Minimum dues are $10/month for members who are on a leave and wish to remain a member in good standing. If you would like to check if you are a member in good standing, please contact the Member Resource Centre (MRC) at 1888-999-7348 ext. 2298 or use the contact form.
We hope that those voting will have had an opportunity to attend one of the over 60 TA information meetings held across the province and/or will have participated in the April 9, 2019 Virtual Town Hall.
If you need a copy of the TA, please contact your Unit Chair.

Dear Members,
We want to thank those who were able to come out last week to attend our very successful media event at the Legislature in Regina. It was great to see members from the three Health Care Provider Unions (HPUs) from across the province stand together in solidarity. During Question Period, multiple MLAs asked questions to the Premier and the Minister of Health on our behalf. We were also able to have meetings with the Opposition Caucus and the Minister of Health to address our concerns over the slow pace of bargaining and the state of health care in our province.
