After over 1,000 days of negotiating, the government of Saskatchewan continues to push vital SEIU-West health care workers to accept a wage mandate with ZEROES, while refusing to ensure safe staffing levels in health care.
Without a contract, recruitment is nearly impossible and understaffing just keeps getting worse.
The government either doesn’t understand or doesn’t care that SEIU-West health care workers deserve a wage increase and that conditions in Saskatchewan long-term care homes, hospitals, and home care must be improved.
Between 11 am and 1:30 pm on August 12, 2020, SEIU-West members will be demonstrating that they are #DoneWaiting at various locations across Saskatoon reinforcing the message that they need a fair collective agreement NOW!
