Virtual town halls (VTHs) were scheduled for the evenings of May 27 and 28 to update SEIU-West members about SAHO bargaining and answer bargaining questions. Unfortunately, the VTH on May 27 ran into major technical glitches. We apologize if you were one of the hundreds of members whose experienced this failure. We were not satisfied that the supplier of the VTH platform would be able to properly fix these problems in time, so we decided to cancel the May 28 VTH.
You may have noticed there hasn't been an announcement about bbqs for the summer yet.

We’ve made it to the very last installment of our Year in Review. Ready to see what SEIU-West was up to for the final quarter of 2021? Let’s get into it!
On January 20, 2022 SEIU-West, the Saskatchewan Federation of Labour (SFL), the Saskatchewan Teachers Federation (STF), the Saskatchewan Union of Nurses (SUN), SGEU and CUPE Saskatchewan joined together to call on the Government of Saskatchewan to protect our healthcare and education systems and other vital public services from the Omicron wave by immediately following the advice of Chief Medical Health Officer Dr. Saqib Shahab. The presidents of these six organizations held an unprecedented joint news conference. Today, the joint open letter below was sent to Premier Scott Moe, calling for a a public health order to:
- Limit gathering sizes to a maximum of 10 people.
- Limit the frequency of gathering and establish a consistent “bubble” of close contacts.
- Limit non-school and non-work contacts.
- Limit non-essential travel between communities.
Welcome back to part three of our Year in Review – 2021 series! Are you ready to see if the second half of the year kept up with the breakneck pace of the first?
SASKATCHEWAN – Today, unions representing more than 113,000 Saskatchewan workers collectively call on the Government of Saskatchewan and Premier Scott Moe to immediately mandate the recommendations of the province’s Chief Medical Health Officer Dr. Saqib Shahab.
On Wednesday, February 23 wear pink and make a stand against bullying.
Lately, you might feel like everything you've done for the province is going unseen and unrecognized.
People see our members, they know how dedicated, driven and passionate they have been through this pandemic, and always.
We are incredibly proud of the work of our SEIU-West members!
Your work isn't going unseen.
This is an excellent example of the recognition you deserve.
Here is a letter from the Faculty at Saskatchewan Polytechnic:

It’s time once again for one of our favourite contests!
Family Literacy Day was established to raise awareness about how important reading and literacy-related activities are for children’s development, and how one of the best ways to get that extra education in is to participate as a family.
The first quarter of 2021 passed by quickly with a big tentative agreement vote, contests, new campaigns, Pink Shirt Day, and continuing to navigate the pandemic and upcoming vaccine rollout. The second quarter of the year continued in much the same way.
